I first came to York in 2005 to study for my undergraduate degree in the Department of Computer Science. After graduating in 2009 with a M.Eng in Computer Systems and Software Engineering I made the switch from Computer Science to Electronics.

I am currently studying for a Ph.D as a member of the Intelligent Systems Group. My research is funded by the SYMBRION project, within which my interests lie in the fields of swarm robotics and self-reconfigurable modular robotics. In particular I am interested in improving the long-term survival of such systems through the study and development of distributed mechanisms of self-assembly, self-repair and fault tolerance.
